"What if you could bottle brevity?"

That was the thought that started everything.

And that's what we've done.

We've taken 20+ years of experience and the skills from training 40,000+ people to become better writers, and bottled it all up as courses, training and coaching, you can pick up and use.

The store was founded by Charli Nordone. (She prefers 'Store Manager' to 'Founder'.)

Ex-CEO and Creative Director of a global brand language agency. Copywriter of two decades. Writing trainer and coach for 15 years. And in a wild-card move, she once started, ran and sold a London food tour company, all in five years.

But her first love has always been words, and food second.

Because, since running her first writing workshop, she was hooked on helping people
become better writers. And opening The Better Writing Store was the way to get back to that.

Why the store exists

Purpose

Put writing skills within easy reach.

Mission

Help people write better, so they can do better.

Better for themselves. Better for business.

Vision

Make access to learning more equitable.
And make the world more accessible through words.

Qualities

Keep it simple. Stock good products. Stay playful.

Life before the store

In over two decades in the business, we've worked with organisations big and small, in finance, pharma, FMCG, telecomms, techcos, retail, government, and charities.

Here are some client names we can casually drop...

Apple, American Express, Asda, Aviva, AXA, BT, BBC, Bank of America, Barclays, Cisco, Danone, Facebook, GSK, HSBC, Macmillan Cancer, O2, PwC, Sainsbury's, Tesco, TfL, The Met Police, Unilever...

The team

We’re a team of writers, trainers and tone-of-voice experts who’ve written for, coached and trained just about every big name you can name.

Between us, we've covered it all — billboards to board reports, social posts to speech-writing, crisis comms to creative campaigns.

And we've trained hundreds of thousands of people all over the world.

We've stood on big stages (ask Charli about calling out bad writing at The Economist Retail Banking Summit) and squeezed into tiny podcast studios. All in the name of better writing.
